It’s official. I am the Queen of Lateness. I have been wanting to build a budget-friendly inspirational outfit for this 3.1 Phillip Lim look showcased during the Fall 2011 show. The cobalt blue and yummy cognac brown shades are definite fall/winter must-haves. I opted to skip the stark white pants (not that you can’t wear white during the winter), but if your heart so desires feel free to swap it for an option of your choice. Fun accessories from Jeffrey Campbell, MANGO, and ASOS completes the look.

Did I tell you about the time I fell in love with sequins skirts? I was on Ebay, aimlessly prowling for something to catch my eye. I happened to be searching for sequined brogues and I figure the best way to do that is with an overall search of all the sequins pickings my beloved thrifting hounds had to offer. And there she was. The third entry in the first row. Just thinking about that sparkle makes me want to cry. I laid my eyes on a hot pink sequined pencil skirt wrapped tightly around a size 6 mannequin. What a beauty! I was in love until I realized it was a size 4– a vintage size 4– and I’m living in Size 8 land. Needless to say, I let her walk away from me. Since that day I have been dreaming of meeting the ideal sequins skirt again. I still think about the way I would have styled her. Maybe with a blue chambray button up top or a heather gray cashmere sweater. If your love for sequins runs as deeply as mine, I’m sure you will appreciate the offerings below.
Marni Sequin Embellished Skirt, $295 Vince Sequin Pencil Skirt, $345 Isabella Oliver Relaxed Sequins Skirt, $189 Zara Sequinned Studio Skirt, 89.90 ASOS Revive Mini Skirt in Neon Sequins Free People Backstage Fever Sequin Bodycon Skirt, $148
P.S. – Should have gotten the skirt? I mean, I could have worked some of the pounds off or stretched out the fabric. Would you have bought it?
Arrrghhhhhhhh! Caroline Engman of the Fashion Squad just blogged about her latest purchase the ASOS Haven Block Heels. Much to my dismay these babies are sold out. These blue/green shades are almost too perfect for the Spring/Summer season.. I am officially on the hunt for something similar. As an alternative, I think I will rock with these for $89 at Nine West.
P.S. – Promise to let up on all the color blocking trend post… I just love it so much. 🙂
