Men’s Fashion: Theophilus London’s Camel Coat Style for GQ Magazine

Coat by Burberry London

Is this not the most awesome men’s fashion photo shoot ever? Brooklyn rapper Theophilus London got with the good boys of GQ Magazine to showcase why the camel coat is the must-have item of the season and how to rock it. He does it so effortlessly, without looking too “suit-and-tie” and still maintaining his rap-tastic swag. In this quick fashion haul of topcoats he shows you how to dress it up or down. Guys take notes!

>Mackage Fall 2010 #NYFW

>

Mackage was my first official runway show which was held at the Salon in the tents of Bryant Park. This was my first “experience” at the tents and it was not what I expected. When I arrived I was told that I was going to be standing but lucky for me I was able to grab a seat in third row. I’m familiar with Mackage from my good ol days of working retail at Lord & Taylor. I loved it then when it was all heavy $900 puffer jackets and I’m loving now as the company ventures off into women’s and men’s ready to wear. I am not a morning person at all but the collage of tweed and leather sheaths held my attention. The decision to take the Mackage from outerwear and into the fashion retail market was good one. Can’t wait to see what they have in store for spring. On the beauty front, I wish I could have snuck backstage to interview the stylist because the hair and makeup was unlike anything I’ve seen so far. Most of the models worked uneven cropped bobs with hair flowing in front of the face or their long mane was tucked in the collar of the coat. I’m all over this look for fall. There’s something in here for the guys too. Check out the pics below.

>Spurr Spring 2010 Presentation

Spurr or shall I say swoon. Walking into the Spurr Spring 2010 Collection I was instantly greeted by a row of sexy male models. I wasn’t expecting it to be so in your face but I did appreciate it, and couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. lol… But on to the clothes. Spurr was very All American, but with a James Bond/Mad Men cool. The hot male models were adorn in sorbet colored sweaters, khaki color pants and trenches, denim shirts and jeans, tailored linen suits, and perfectly coiffed hair. I simply adored each look. Any woman would love to have their man sporting the Spurr Spring collection. The set up of the green shrubbery against the stark white background with the named etched above was genius. It made you really focus on the clothes. No distractions. Aside, the dj spun some eclectic tunes, and the bar was stocked with eco-friendly drinks. I had a ball at Spurr.

A Mob of Well Dressed Men

Above lies an impeccable editorial of an army of well dressed men for Robb Report. My favorite shots are a toss-up between the navy blue suits with red power ties, and the last frame in old school black and white, with traditional coiffed-hair and skinny black ties. I love a man in a nice, fitted suit, clean shoes and a great tie. Swoon.

P.S. – This is my 100th post!!! It really doesn’t feel like it but that’s a good thing. Can’t wait until my 500th.

>Men’s Fashion Spring 2009

>Hey guys listen up. I’m about to bless you with the full coverage of the best looks for Spring 2009. Take it from me, women love a man who can dress. Why? A well dressed man exudes a certain sexiness and confidence that can’t be touched. Let’s take a quick peek of a few prime specimen who have clearly been doing it as of late. You may call them metros, but have you ever asked yourself why these men are always seen with the baddest chicks in Hollywood. Let’s view them at their best.

Jay and Bey

Kanye and Alexis- O how I miss thee…

Nelly and Ashanti

Sean and Kim (hey this is a fashion blog people!)

Will and Jada

Paris fashion week was crazy! Not that I went, hope to get there one day, but the fashion was ah-mazing! A hunky, hairy stud was sent down the runway in Vivienne Westwood, male models stomp the cat walk in wedges for Fendi, old male models, men in ultra skimpy swim wear, and just about everything on the opposite side of usual. Nevertheless, it was a much needed breath of fresh air to see men pushing the envelope. Take a look. I wouldn’t suggest you take these looks literally, but if you love fashion you should appreciate it.

Ok those looks were just for fun. Now let’s get down to business. Here are the five things that every man needs in his closet.

1. A nice black suit. Not to tight, not to baggy. It should be tailored to your body type.
2. Skinny black tie. Throw out those old school color blocked, church ties and opt for one that’s sleek. It does a great job of broadening the chest.

3. A neutral suit. This is your dining out for brunch suit. I would go a few shades darker for a grey or khaki version. Neutrals are really hot because you can have fun with accessories.

Calvin Klein

4. Man Purse. Please don’t let the word purse scare you. The days of looking like a cool-funky-fresh b-boy are OVER. Please stop rocking the colorful book bags and go for a nice leather bag.

Just kidding…

5. A cool pair of Wayfarer’s, a la Tom Cruise in Risky Business. Aviators are cool but if you want to look fashion forward try this pair from Urban Outfitters.
