From Victoria Secret Angel to the Mad Hatter. The now 21-year old Chanel Iman appears on the cover of WSJ Magazine‘s December 2011 issue lensed by Hans Feurer and styled by Sabina Schreder. Draped in luxurious furs and baubles with her Lady Gaga-esque hats being the focus, the model evokes the spirit of an Italian socialite. Hmmm, ADR is that you?
It perplexes me that a person who was born male can not only capture the essence of femininity, but do it better than some of those who were born with it. Wearing Givenchy, Lea T appears on the cover of Elle Brasil December 2011 shot by Fábio Bartelt. I’ll never forget when the controversial model appeared on Oprah. I’m sure that episode was a little too much for America, but for me it gave me a great understanding of the issue. It took me only a few minutes into the show to believe that this is who she was born to be.
Singer/Should-Be Model/Diddy’s Girl looks stunning on the cover of Idoll magazine. Whenever I think of the few beautiful people on the planet, I envision God sprinkling “pretty dust” around the world and the lucky few in position to catch the flecks of gold are eternally blessed with gorgeousness. Gisele Bundchen, Beyonce, and yeah Cassie’s one of them. Ok maybe that was a little over the top, but I do believe the songstress is ignoring her true calling. She should be walking down the runways in Paris and shooing swimsuit campaigns in Brazil. Seriously Cass my dear, my mother always told me “you better use it, before you lose it.” The remnants of pretty dust won’t last forever. Peep the rest of the spread below.
Karlie Kloss is quickly becoming one of my favorite models to watch. Fresh off the heels of her angelic turn at the Victoria Secret Fashion Show, Kloss looks breath-taking on the cover of Vogue Deutsch December 2011. Styled with the season’s sweeping berry trend, Kloss wears a Ralph Lauren gown, topped with jewels and rosettes to create a vibe of wholesome elegance for the holidays. Photographer Alexi Lubomirski highlighted the supermodels’ best features–sharp cheek bones that go up to the high heavens and her amazing ice blue glare. What do you think of the cover?
Remember a while back I was complaining about the lack of love Tyra Banks receives compared to her supermodel counterparts? Well, this is what I like to see. Yes, more covers for Tyra! The powerhouse gives her best smize on the cover of Germany’s I Love You magazine shot by Marcus Gaab, hair by Oscar James, and makeup by Valente Frazier. I love the pop of yellow on her lids which is such a striking contrast next to her bright red lapels. The fact that Tyra’s contour game is always on 10 definitely helps. Chic, chic, chic! Now this is nowhere near professional enough to pull off at work, and it’s far too adventurous for the club. I would definitely save this for those times when you just want to stand out. You can pull out all the stops for a funky fashion event, or a fun night out with your girls. If you’re digging Tyra’s bright yellow lids, charcoal cut-crease and nude lips, get her look with the items below.
