Look Book Love: Zara November 2011

Hello Zara! My favorite retailer gives us a glimpse into their offering throughout the month of November showcased by 23-year old Polish model, Kasia Struss. It seems there is something for everyone in this collection. A little bit of grunge, prep and professionalism for the well-rounded Zara woman. I especially like the kaleidoscope print pants, pencil skirt with lace overlay design, sharp turtle necks and the warm wool coats. Will you be shopping Zara’s latest collection? Check out the rest below.

Newly Leaked Versace for H&M Collection Inspire Heavy Metal

Is it me or are the leaked Versace for H&M collection images telling us to go punk? Take Sasha Pivovarova above in her solo shot, even with the tropical colors she still manages to look like a young Debby Harry. Below, Daphne Goeneveld and Lindsey Wixson look like a total 80s girl group who just left the mosh pit. Love it. Check out the woman behind the magic, Donatella Versace wearing one of the coveted pieces during Versace’s Mens Spring 2012 show in Milan.

While most of your favorite retailers are creating lady like threads, H&M is providing something for those who prefer to indulge in a little heavy metal. As per usual, H&M designer collection aren’t cheap and they will probably sell out the night of release, so be prepared! The collection launches at H&M on November 19, 2011.

Lookbook Love: Lauren Conrad’s Second Collection for Paper Crown

In many ways Lauren Conrad is like the phoenix that rose from the ashes. She started on The Hills loved and adored by girls across America and then you couldn’t pick up an issue of People without seeing her face splashed through the pages. Plus, she put that classic “California Girl” style on the map. Then it ended. Still, there were successful book deals kept alive by her army of fans, but it hasn’t been enough to get her that coveted fashion mogul status she craved. Enter Paper Crown or Lauren’s second chance to get on top. She talked to Lucky Magazine about her vision for the holiday collection.

I kept fall very streamlined, and with the second season was able to introduce more novelty fabrications, trims and details,” Conrad told us. “We added a lot of texture and pretty details with velvets, laces, crinkle chiffon, petersham ribbons, custom gold buttons, etc.,–the lace pieces and rich floral print are really elegant and feminine, while the mini dresses and skirts are more flirty and youthful.

While she still has some ways to go, I must say I’m very impressed with the collection.

Dress Up Your Collars With Eleven Objects

When I came across this look worked by Shingai Shinowa I instantly felt the need to dissect it. It’s so simple, yet complicated. She looks effortless in structured pieces built together like a perfectly framed puzzle. Oh and this look is puzzling, in a good of course. The rundown: Tough lace booties, a navy blue high-waisted skirt, building up to a strong white collar peeking outside of a sequined sweater, completed with a midnight blue topper hat making for a fashionably chic birds nest of sorts. Each piece contradicts the next, creating a retro-futuristic vibe and it all somehow works. While the overall look is a ten with ease, it stands out due to one major statement piece: the collar.

Taking the look to dangerously new heights is Eleven Objects by Linh Thi Do, former product developer at Alexander Wang and TSE, and partner Christine Rhee of the eponymous line CRHEE. The collection of collars dressed up in animal prints, bejeweled and faux-furred out makes for a grand entrance. Pieces run from $135 up to $375.  For the girl that strives to look put together, but boldly unique this piece would be a fun addition to the wardrobe.
