It’s official. I am the Queen of Lateness. I have been wanting to build a budget-friendly inspirational outfit for this 3.1 Phillip Lim look showcased during the Fall 2011 show. The cobalt blue and yummy cognac brown shades are definite fall/winter must-haves. I opted to skip the stark white pants (not that you can’t wear white during the winter), but if your heart so desires feel free to swap it for an option of your choice. Fun accessories from Jeffrey Campbell, MANGO, and ASOS completes the look.

Last night I literally spent the whole night at work filling in for a co-worker. Whenever I pull the “all-nighter” I spend most of my time browsing blogs, YouTube, and checking out my email offers of some of the favorite *e-tiques. This was all going on as my cold began to come down. I seriously don’t know where it came from. I haven’t been sick all year. In lieu of me putting my thinking cap on and placing my fingers on the board to give you some dope post (I can’t think straight when I’m sick), I ogled over these examples of inspiration.
Now doesn’t that just make you want to organize your closet, take inventory and truly put your best image forward at all times? Up until this year I never realize how much work goes into looking fabulous. It’s not an easy job. Kudos to those bloggers, editors, etc out there who make it seem like a piece of cake. I think it’s a gift. Even if the average joe had access to the wardrobe of their dreams it still takes inner style, beauty and the gusto to pull it off. There is an unexplainable passion behind it.
*Jumps Off Topic* —–>*Groupie Moment Alert* – When I got back up this afternoon, I received email notice that the Fashion Bomb had linked to one of my post (this one). Yoooo, that’s big news for a little blogger like me. Even if she doesn’t read my blog, but somehow stumbled across it doing a Google Search, it still put a smile on my face. It also became clear to me that if I keep writing about what I love and keep grinding eventually the world will see. I’m not just this boring news reporter. There is a side of me that most have never met. I read a quote on twitter that said: Being a successful blogger takes a little bit of narcissism. I plan to do more post that display that. With that said, let me know what you like. If you haven’t already Subscribe!, Follow Me On Twitter, Join My Facebook Page! Let’s go…
P.S. I hope this all makes sense because I am completely scattered brain right now. XO
With the return of fall ushers in new fashion. Berry, plum or grape — whatever your favorite hue in the purple spectrum happens to be, just make it rich! Thus far we’ve had an easy transition into the season, so infusing a bit of purple into your closet will give you a dramatic leap forward. I think everyone should take on a certain theme when deciding their overall look. You could be seductive, preppy, punk, old school or subdued, just make sure the theme expresses something about your personal style. While researching my theme for the season I came across these three distinct images which I’m hoping will resonate and see me through.
1. For daytime preppy inspiration I’m turning to this old Miu Miu ad. Chic, chic, chic!
2. If ever I wanted to turn into a sophisticated swan here’s Rachel McAdams serving editorial inspiration. She looks absolutely stunning lounging on a fancy chaise wearing Louis Vuitton.
Who’s personal style are you inspired by? I think Solange has been killing the game. With your plum fashion in mind, shop my picks below.
Free People Bow Back Slub Knit Top, $88 Aldo Kovac Platfom Pumps, $110 Robert Rodriguez Wide Leg Pleated Pants, $315 ASOS Knitted Shirt Dress, $43.91 Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Berry Haute, $6.39 [6.] Coach Madison Leather Hailey, $298.00
I just posted about Solange’s style game trouncing on the competition a few days ago and here she is with another look (Insert Karate Chop Here). Who the hell knew bright, bright, BRIGHT sunshine yellow could work in the fall. The beauty showed up to support her fellow Rimmel London brand ambassador, Kate Moss celebrate a decade of working with the brand. Solange stood tall wearing a now sold out Emile silk one-shouldered dress by ACNE. This might be a risky pay off during the fall season but isn’t that what fashion is all about? If you pair the look with the appropriate accessories it could totally work. I can definitely see myself wearing a bright yellow dress for a night on the town. Check how I re-worked the “look” for a cool autumn evening in New York.
1. ASOS Blackheart Faux Fur Silk Lined Gilet, $109.77 [ A faux fur vest will always be in style. Pick up one in black and you will be forever chic] 2. Topshop Pleated Frill Dress, $100 [ Of course the scene stealing number in this ensemble is the bright yellow dress. I like the look for this mini for the flirty girl on the go] 3. House of Harlow 1960 ‘Tilly’ Studded Calf Hair Clutch, $250 [ This tiny pic doesn’t do the bag justice. The calf hair is seriously luxurious and will turn your chic look up ten notches!] 4. House of Harlow 1960 “Natalia” Platform Booties, $295 [ Nicole Richie’s line House of Harlow is full of little gems. I’m in love with these leopard print platform booties. Wear them with dark jeans for an easy-going look]
