Boy, the High Fashion Gods have showered us divas on a budget with countless blessings of grandeur lately. I mean, are we living in the twilight zone? First Missoni puts their nifty patterns on the shelves at Target, H&M for Versace drops next month, and now we have the sexy Italian fashion label, Giambattista Valli debuting an Impulse Collection for Macy’s *faints*.
I love Giambattista Valli! Whenever there is an award show, it goes with out saying that his pieces will be the show stoppers of the evening. While I’m loving the campaign starring Joan Smalls, Sasha Pivovarova, and Hanaa Ben Abdesslem, I was hoping for more form-fitting threads a la Kirsten Dunst’s Flare Magazine cover. According to WWD the Giambattista Valli for Impulse collection ranges in price from $50 to $150 and will be sold in about 225 Macy’s stores nationwide and on macys.com on October 26th.

Is it me or are the leaked Versace for H&M collection images telling us to go punk? Take Sasha Pivovarova above in her solo shot, even with the tropical colors she still manages to look like a young Debby Harry. Below, Daphne Goeneveld and Lindsey Wixson look like a total 80s girl group who just left the mosh pit. Love it. While most of your favorite retailers are creating lady like threads, H&M is providing something for those who prefer to indulge in a little heavy metal. As per usual, H&M designer collection aren’t cheap and they will probably sell out the night of release, so be prepared! The collection launches at H&M on November 19, 2011.
I have one word for you…. Hot! You couldn’t convince my 9-year old self that those thick, cat-eye, prescription frames I was forced to wear against my own will would later become a sexy, style staple in 2011. Model Abbey Lee Kershaw presents a steamy rendition of the look, paired with a glossy red lip for the Tom Ford Spring 2011 Eyewear Collection. I’m loving it.
I’m still puzzled as to how summer officially began a month ago and have yet to purchase a new swim suit. I’m going to Jamaica next month on vacation so I need to get on the ball. I’m loving these swimsuits from Zimmermann’s Resort 2011 collection.
All I can really say is wow.. I have never really been a crazed Topshop fanatic but this time around I must admit, I’m impressed. I think this collection is everything that we want to be. First, making a clear distinction between what is trendy and popular and what simply looks good. A look we can not only “own” but inhabit. Clothes that are dramatic, articulate and chic. For the first time in a while I’m actually drawn to the clothes, the detail and the art of the design rather than how cool the campaign looks.
